Remediation
Recommended actions to resolve this vulnerability, in priority order.
- Compensating control
Restrict external access to affected Adobe Experience Manager instances (Adobe Experience Manager versions 6.5.24, LTS SP1, 2026.04 and earlier) to trusted IP ranges and/or place them behind a web application firewall or reverse proxy configured to detect and block XSS payloads (including DOM-based XSS patterns). Isolate author/publish environments from public access when possible.
- Operational
Notify administrators and users that exploitation requires visiting a crafted webpage; instruct users to avoid opening untrusted or suspicious links and attachments. Monitor web and application logs for signs of DOM-based XSS attempts and suspicious requests, and isolate or take affected instances offline until a vendor-provided fix is available.
