Remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS after v9.0 and before v9.2.0 could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code and use this to gain root access to the Brocade switch.
A flaw was reported in kernel TCP subsystem while calculating a packet round trip time, when a sysctl parameter (/proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcpminrttwlen) when is set wrongly. This causes an integer over flaw which can lead to a Denial Of Service (DOS) attack.

Multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in REST API in Brocade Fabric OS versions v8.2.1 through v8.2.1d, and 8.2.2 versions before v8.2.2c could allow remote unauthenticated attackers to perform various attacks.
Rest API in Brocade Fabric OS v8.2.1 through v8.2.1d, and 8.2.2 versions before v8.2.2c is vulnerable to multiple instances of reflected input.
Brocade Fabric OS versions before Brocade Fabric OS v9.0.0, v8.2.2c, v8.2.1e, v8.1.2k, v8.2.0CBN3, contains code injection and privilege escalation vulnerability.
Brocade Fabric OS before Brocade Fabric OS v8.2.1c, v8.1.2h, and all versions of Brocade Fabric OS v8.0.x and v7.x contain documented hard-coded credentials, which could allow attackers to gain access to the system.
A vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS software v9.1.1, v9.0.1e, v8.2.3c, v7.4.2j, and earlier versions could allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute on a Brocade Fabric OS switch commands capable of modifying zoning, disabling the switch, disabling ports, and modifying the switch IP address.
A vulnerability in the proxy service of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 8.2.1, 8.1.2f, 8.0.2f, 7.4.2d could allow remote unauthenticated attackers to obtain sensitive information and possibly cause a denial of service attack.
A privilege escalation vulnerability in Brocade Fibre Channel SAN products running Brocade Fabric OS (FOS) releases earlier than v7.4.1d and v8.0.1b could allow an authenticated attacker to elevate the privileges of user accounts accessing the system via command line interface. With affected versions, non-root users can gain root access with a combination of shell commands and parameters.
A vulnerability in the Brocade Webtools firmware update section of Brocade Fabric OS before 8.2.1, 8.1.2f, 8.0.2f, 7.4.2d could allow remote authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary commands.
Supportlink CLI in Brocade Fabric OS Versions v8.2.1 through v8.2.1d, and 8.2.2 versions before v8.2.2c does not obfuscate the password field, which could expose users’ credentials of the remote server. An authenticated user could obtain the exposed password credentials to gain access to the remote host.
A vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS CLI before Brocade Fabric OS v9.1.0, 9.0.1e, 8.2.3c, and 7.4.2j could allow a local authenticated user to break out of restricted shells with “set context” and escalate privileges.
A vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS CLI before Brocade Fabric OS v9.1.0, 9.0.1e, 8.2.3c, 8.2.0cbn5, 7.4.2.j could allow a remote authenticated attacker to perform stack buffer overflow using in “firmwaredownload” and “diagshow” commands.
Brocade Webtools in Brocade Fabric OS versions before Brocade Fabric OS versions v9.1.1, v9.0.1e, and v8.2.3c could allow a low privilege webtools, user, to gain elevated admin rights, or privileges, beyond what is intended or entitled for that user. By exploiting this vulnerability, a user whose role is not an admin can create a new user with an admin role using the operator session id. The issue was replicated after intercepting the admin, and operator authorization headers sent unencrypted and editing a user addition request to use the operator's authorization header.
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the SNMP daemon request handling of Brocade Fabric versions before 10.0.1. When processing an incoming SNMPv3 packet, an internal statistics gathering handler copies user-supplied context name data into a fixed-size buffer without properly validating the length of the string. A remote, unauthenticated attacker (under default configuration) can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted SNMPv3 packet, leading to memory corruption, daemon crash (Denial of Service), or potential arbitrary code execution.
The firmwaredownload command on Brocade Fabric OS v9.2.0 could log the FTP/SFTP/SCP server password in clear text in the SupportSave file when performing a downgrade from Fabric OS v9.2.0 to any earlier version of Fabric OS.
Implementation of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) operating on the Brocade 6547 (FC5022) embedded switch blade, makes internal script calls to system.sh from within the SNMP binary. An authenticated attacker could perform command or parameter injection on SNMP operations that are only enabled on the Brocade 6547 (FC5022) embedded switch. This injection could allow the authenticated attacker to issue commands as Root.
Broadcom Brocade Fabric OS contains a code injection vulnerability that allows a local user with administrative privileges to execute arbitrary code with full root privileges.
Multiple OS Command Injection vulnerabilities exist in the management interface and session processing routines of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1. Input processing flaws during remote management connection validation and session verification for directory-based user accounts allow untrusted input containing shell metacharacters to reach internal system execution wrappers. An authenticated user or a compromised directory service account can exploit these vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary operating system commands with elevated privileges on the target device.
Multiple stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in the REST API management component of Brocade Fabric OS versions prior to 10.0.1. When processing API request payloads (such as device configuration attributes or port mapping requests) the REST API service fails to properly validate incoming array counts and string lengths against internal buffer capacities. An authenticated attacker with REST API access can transmit crafted, oversized request parameters to induce memory corruption on the execution stack. This may result in a denial-of-service condition (daemon crash) or potential arbitrary code execution within the management process context.
An OS command injection vulnerability exists in the time and zone management subsystem of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. When updating system timezone settings via the REST API or configuration download routines, the system fails to sanitize input values before processing them in underlying shell execution routines. An authenticated user with low-privilege administrative access can exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted timezone string containing shell metacharacters. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to escape the restricted management environment and execute arbitrary shell commands with elevated privileges.
A command injection vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.2.0c, and 9.2.1 through 9.2.1a on IP extension platforms could allow a local authenticated attacker to perform a privileged escalation via crafted use of the portcfg command.
This specific exploitation is only possible on IP Extension platforms: Brocade 7810, Brocade 7840, Brocade 7850 and on Brocade X6 or X7 directors with an SX-6 Extension blade installed. The attacker must be logged into the switch via SSH or serial console to conduct the attack.
A vulnerability in the secure configuration of authentication and management services in Brocade Fabric OS before Fabric OS 9.2.1c2 could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with administrative credentials to execute arbitrary commands as root using “supportsave”, “seccertmgmt”, “configupload” command.
A vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.2.1c3 could allow elevating the privileges of the local authenticated user to “root” using the export option of seccertmgmt and seccryptocfg commands.
A command injection vulnerability in the REST API management interface of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 allows an authenticated user to execute arbitrary system commands via crafted input parameters.
When Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 processes trunk configuration operations, the application parses user-supplied list strings into dynamically allocated heap arrays without enforcing boundary checks on the maximum allowable number of elements. An authenticated administrator can exploit this vulnerability via crafted REST API requests containing an excessive number of list delimiters, causing heap corruption that can result in service crash or arbitrary code execution.
An input validation vulnerability exists in the security certificate management component of the Brocade Fabric OS administrative management API. When processing certificate management operations, user-supplied certificate identifiers are handled without adequate sanitization prior to execution in external system routines. An authenticated attacker with privileges to perform certificate deletion requests can leverage this flaw to execute arbitrary system commands with the privileges of the underlying management daemon. This vulnerability affects Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1.
An authorization and input validation vulnerability exists in Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. An authenticated user with restricted privileges in one Virtual Fabric can exploit this issue by submitting a specially crafted request containing an arbitrary fabric identifier. This allows the user to perform unauthorized cross-fabric operations and view configuration details within tenants/Virtual Fabrics to which they have not been granted access.
A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the system logging daemon of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. Insufficient access controls on internal inter-process communication (IPC) channels allow an unprivileged local user to submit malformed logging configurations. Due to improper input sanitization during configuration file generation, an attacker can inject arbitrary directives that execute with elevated privileges when the logging service reloads, leading to local privilege escalation.
A command injection vulnerability exists in the WebTools administrative interface handling configuration download or file transfer operations of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. An authenticated user with permissions to perform configuration downloads using remote server profiles can supply malicious parameter strings to execute arbitrary shell commands on the switch with root privileges
