During key agreement in a TLS handshake using a DH(E) based ciphersuite a malicious server can send a very large prime value to the client. This will cause the client to spend an unreasonably long period of time generating a key for this prime resulting in a hang until the client has finished. This could be exploited in a Denial Of Service attack. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.0i-dev (Affected 1.1.0-1.1.0h). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2p-dev (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2o).
A flaw was found in Python. The built-in modules httplib and http.client (included in Python 2 and Python 3, respectively) do not properly validate CRLF sequences in the HTTP request method, potentially allowing manipulation to the request by injecting additional HTTP headers. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality and integrity.

Catastrophic backtracking vulnerability was found in Python. Exploitation of a regular expression in pop3lib's apop() method although limited by 2048 chars, can lead to denial of service.

It was found that original patch for issues CVE-2015-1283 and CVE-2015-2716 used overflow checks that could be optimized out by some compilers applying certain optimization settings, which can cause the vulnerability to remain even after applying the patch.
One pattern in the fix for CVE-2015-1283/CVE-2015-2716 is:
/ bufferSize is positive here / do { bufferSize = 2; } while (bufferSize < neededSize && bufferSize > 0); if (bufferSize <= 0) { errorCode = XMLERRORNOMEMORY; return NULL;
Any of the modern optimizing compiler, IF able to infer that bufferSize is initially positive (which is true but not obvious to see through local reasoning), will eliminate bufferSize > 0 as always true when the execution is defined, and bufferSize <= 0 as always false when the execution is defined.
Without knowing that bufferSize starts positive, an optimizing compiler could also move the test bufferSize > 0 out of the loop, that is, compile the code as if it had been written:
if (bufferSize <= 0) errorCode = XMLERRORNOMEMORY; return NULL; else { do { bufferSize = 2; } while (bufferSize < neededSize); }
Both cases leads to not eliminating the vulnerability.

An issue was discovered in Python through 2.7.16, 3.x through 3.5.7, 3.6.x through 3.6.9, and 3.7.x through 3.7.4. The email module wrongly parses email addresses that contain multiple @ characters. An application that uses the email module and implements some kind of checks on the From/To headers of a message could be tricked into accepting an email address that should be denied. An attack may be the same as in CVE-2019-11340; however, this CVE applies to Python more generally.
A flaw was found in python's elementtree.c module, a wrapper for libexpat XML parser. xml.etree C accelerator don't call XMLSetHashSalt(), failing to properly initiate the random hash seed from a good CSPRNG source and making hash collision attacks with carefully crafted XML data easier.
Upstream bug:
https://bugs.python.org/issue34623.
A flaw was found in python. In Lib/tarfile.py an attacker is able to craft a TAR archive leading to an infinite loop when opened by tarfile.open, because procpax lacks header validation.
Apache Tomcat uses a package renamed copy of Apache Commons FileUpload to implement the file upload requirements of the Servlet specification. A denial of service vulnerability was identified in Commons FileUpload that occurred when the length of the multipart boundary was just below the size of the buffer (4096 bytes) used to read the uploaded file. This caused the file upload process to take several orders of magnitude longer than if the boundary was the typical tens of bytes long.

A use-after-free vulnerability in libcurl was found. libcurl works with easy handles using the type 'CURL ' that are objects the application creates using curleasyinit(). They are the handles that are all each associated with a single transfer at a time. libcurl also has an internal struct that represents and holds most state that is related to a single connection. An easy handle can hold references to one or many such connection structs depending on the requested operations.
When using libcurl's multi interface, an application performs transfers by adding one or more easy handles to the multi handle and then it can drive all those transfers in parallel.
Due to a flaw, libcurl could leave a pointer to a freed connection struct dangling in an easy handle that was previously added to a multi handle when curlmulticleanup() is called with an easy handle still added to it. This does not seem to cause any notable harm if the handle is then closed properly.
However, if the easy handle would instead get used again with the easy interface and curleasyperform() to do another transfer, it would blindly use the connection struct pointer now pointing to freed memory.
An application could be made to allocate its own fake version of the connect struct, fill in some data and then have the curleasyperform() call do something that clearly was not intended by the original code.

A race condition was found in the way Linux kernel's memory subsystem handled breakage of the read only private mappings COW situation on write access.
An unprivileged local user could use this flaw to gain write access to otherwise read only memory mappings and thus increase their privileges on the system.

A buffer overflow due to a singed-unsigned comparsion was found in hidpprocessreport() in the net/bluetooth/hidp/core.c in the Linux kernel. The buffer length is an unsigned int but gets cast to a signed int which in certain conditions can lead to a system panic and a denial-of-service.

A flaw was found In the Linux kernel, through version 4.19.6, where a local user could exploit a use-after-free in the ALSA driver by supplying a malicious USB Sound device (with zero interfaces) that is mishandled in usbaudioprobe in sound/usb/card.c. An attacker could corrupt memory and possibly escalate privileges if the attacker is able to have physical access to the system.

It was reported that the Tomcat init script performed unsafe file handling, which could result in local privilege escalation.
A missing bounds check was found in the way OpenSSL handled TLS heartbeat extension packets. This flaw could be used to reveal up to 64k of memory from a connected client or server.
Only 1.0.1 releases of OpenSSL are affected including 1.0.1f (and 1.0.2 betas)
The following upstream commit introduced TLS/DTLS heatbeat support and also this issue:

OpenStack Compute (Nova) Grizzly, Folsom (2012.2), and Essex (2012.1) allows remote authenticated users to gain access to a VM in opportunistic circumstances by using the VNC token for a deleted VM that was bound to the same VNC port.
It was found that the raw midi kernel driver does not protect against concurrent access which leads to a double realloc (double free) in sndrawmidiinputparams() and sndrawmidioutputstatus() which are part of sndrawmidiioctl() handler in rawmidi.c file. A malicious local attacker could possibly use this for privilege escalation.
GNOME libxml2 is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error in xmlStringLenDecodeEntities in parser.c. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to enter into an infinite loop.
Fixed bug (Null Pointer Dereference in PHP Session Upload Progress). (CVE-2020-7062)
A vulnerability was found in PHP versions 7.3.x below 7.3.16 and 7.4.x below 7.4.34, while using mbstrtolower() function with UTF-32LE encoding, certain invalid strings could cause PHP to overwrite stack-allocated buffer. This could lead to memory corruption, crashes and potentially code execution.
A vulnerability in the Data-Loss-Prevention (DLP) module in Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) Software versions 0.102.1 and 0.102.0 could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to an out-of-bounds read affecting users that have enabled the optional DLP feature. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted email file to an affected device. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause the ClamAV scanning process crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

A use after free issue was found in the way Linux kernel's KVM hypervisor implements its device control API. While creating a device via kvmioctlcreatedevice(), device holds a reference to a VM object, latter this reference is transferred to caller's file descriptor table. If such file descriptor was to be closed, reference count to the VM object could become zero, potentially leading to use-after-free issue latter.
A user/process could use this flaw to crash the guest VM resulting in DoS issue OR potentially gain privileged access to a system.

Chrome could allow a remote malicious user to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an out-of-bounds access in SQLite. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web site, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system or cause a denial of service.
