A NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability in the management daemon (mgd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a local, high-privileged attacker setting or deactivating a specific SSH configuration parameter to create a Denial of Service (DoS).
A local high-privileged user configuring or deactivating a specific 'system services ssh' configuration parameter can exploit a null pointer dereference in one of the functions used by SSH. The function attempts to dereference a null pointer when accessing certain configuration data, resulting in an mgd process crash and restart. Continued execution of these configuration commands will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition.

A Missing Authentication for Critical Function vulnerability in the Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs) of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved on PTX Series allows a local, authenticated attacker with low privileges to gain direct access to FPCs installed in the device.
A local user with low privileges can gain direct access to the installed FPCs as a high privileged user, which can potentially lead to a full compromise of the affected component.

An Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in the kernel of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
If a high rate of specific valid packets are processed by the routing engine (RE) this will lead to a loss of connectivity of the RE with other components of the chassis and thereby a complete and persistent system outage. Please note that a carefully designed lo0 firewall filter will block or limit these packets which should prevent this issue from occurring.

A Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
If an attacker sends a specific BGP UPDATE message to the device, this will cause a memory overwrite and therefore an RPD crash and restart in the backup Routing Engine (RE). Continued receipt of these packets will cause a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition in the backup RE.
The primary RE is not impacted by this issue and there is no impact on traffic.
This issue only affects devices with NSR enabled.
Note: NSR is not supported on the SRX Series and is therefore not affected by this vulnerability. This issue requires an attacker to have an established BGP session to a system affected by the issue. This issue affects both eBGP and iBGP implementations.

An Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in BGP session processing of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker, using specific timing outside the attacker's control, to flap BGP sessions and cause the routing protocol daemon (rpd) process to crash and restart, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Continued BGP session flapping will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition.
This issue only affects routers configured with non-stop routing (NSR) enabled. Graceful Restart (GR) helper mode, enabled by default, is also required for this issue to be exploitable.
Note: NSR is not supported on the SRX Series and is therefore not affected by this vulnerability. When the BGP session flaps on the NSR-enabled router, the device enters GR-helper/LLGR-helper mode due to the peer having negotiated GR/LLGR-restarter capability and the backup BGP requests for replication of the GR/LLGR-helper session, master BGP schedules, and initiates replication of GR/LLGR stale routes to the backup BGP. In this state, if the BGP session with the BGP peer comes up again, unsolicited replication is initiated for the peer without cleaning up the ongoing GR/LLGR-helper mode replication. This parallel two instances of replication for the same peer leads to the assert if the BGP session flaps again.

A Function Call With Incorrect Argument Type vulnerability in the sensor interface of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved on PTX Series allows a network-based, authenticated attacker with low privileges to cause a complete Denial of Service (DoS).
If colored SRTE policy tunnels are provisioned via PCEP, and gRPC is used to monitor traffic in these tunnels, evo-aftmand crashes and doesn't restart which leads to a complete and persistent service impact. The system has to be manually restarted to recover. The issue is seen only when the Originator ASN field in PCEP contains a value larger than 65,535 (32-bit ASN). The issue is not reproducible when SRTE policy tunnels are statically configured.

A Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime vulnerability in the Layer 2 Address Learning Daemon (l2ald) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent, unauthenticated attacker to cause a memory leak ultimately leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).
In an EVPN-MPLS scenario, routes learned from remote multi-homed Provider Edge (PE) devices are programmed as ESI routes. Due to a logic issue in the l2ald memory management, memory allocated for these routes is not released when there is churn for these routes. As a result, memory leaks in the l2ald process which will ultimately lead to a crash and restart of l2ald.
Use the following command to monitor the memory consumption by l2ald:
user@device> show system process extensive | match "PID|l2ald"

An Improper Input Validation vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). When a BGP update message is received over an established BGP session, and that message contains a specific, optional transitive attribute, this session will be torn down with an update message error. This issue cannot propagate beyond an affected system as the processing error occurs as soon as the update is received. This issue is exploitable remotely as the respective attribute can propagate through unaffected systems and intermediate AS (if any). Continuous receipt of a BGP update containing this attribute will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Some customers have experienced these BGP session flaps which prompted Juniper SIRT to release this advisory out of cycle before fixed releases are widely available as there is an effective workaround.

A Signed to Unsigned Conversion Error vulnerability in the Layer 2 Control Protocol daemon (l2cpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated adjacent attacker sending a specifically malformed LLDP TLV to cause the l2cpd process to crash and restart, causing a Denial of Service (DoS). Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition.
When an LLDP telemetry subscription is active, receipt of a specifically malformed LLDP TLV causes the l2cpd process to crash and restart.
This issue affects:
Junos OS:
All versions before 21.2R3-S9, from 21.4 before 21.4R3-S10, from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S6, from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S6, from 23.2 before 23.2R2-S3, from 23.4 before 23.4R2-S4, from 24.2 before 24.2R2;

An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause an integrity impact to the downstream devices.
When a peer sends a BGP update message which contains the aggregator attribute with an ASN value of zero (0), rpd accepts and propagates this attribute, which can cause issues for downstream BGP peers receiving this.
This issue affects:
Junos OS:
All versions before 21.4R3-S6, 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S3, 22.4 versions before 22.4R3;
Junos OS Evolved:
All versions before 21.4R3-S7-EVO, 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S4-EVO, 22.4 versions before 22.4R3-EVO.
This is a similar, but different vulnerability than the issue reported as CVE-2024-39549.
A double-free vulnerability in the routing process daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an attacker to send a malformed BGP Path attribute update which allocates memory used to log the bad path attribute. This double free of memory is causing an rpd crash, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).
This issue affects:
Junos OS: from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S4.
Junos OS Evolved: from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S4-EVO.
An Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in the kernel of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
In specific cases the state of TCP sessions that are terminated is not cleared, which over time leads to an exhaustion of resources, preventing new connections to the control plane from being established.
A continuously increasing number of connections shown by:
user@host > show system connections
is indicative of the problem. To recover the respective RE needs to be restarted manually.
This issue only affects IPv4 but does not affect IPv6. This issue only affects TCP sessions established in-band (over an interface on an FPC) but not out-of-band (over the management ethernet port on the routing-engine).
This issue affects Junos OS Evolved:
All versions before 21.4R3-S9-EVO, 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S4-EVO, 22.4 version before 22.4R3-S3-EVO, 23.2 versions before 23.2R2-S1-EVO, 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-EVO.
An Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (RPD) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated, network based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
In a scenario where BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) is configured with rib-in pre-policy monitoring, receiving a BGP update with a specifically malformed AS PATH attribute over an established BGP session, can cause an RPD crash and restart.
This issue affects:
Junos OS:
All versions before 21.2R3-S8, 21.4 versions before 21.4R3-S8, 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S4, 22.3 versions before 22.3R3-S3, 22.4 versions before 22.4R3-S2, 23.2 versions before 23.2R2-S1, 23.4 versions before 23.4R1-S2, 23.4R2;
Junos OS Evolved:
All versions before 21.2R3-S8-EVO, 21.4 versions before 21.4R3-S8-EVO, 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S4-EVO, 22.3 versions before 22.3R3-S3-EVO, 22.4 versions before 22.4R3-S2-EVO, 23.2 versions before 23.2R2-S1-EVO, 23.4 versions before 23.4R1-S2-EVO, 23.4R2-EVO.
An Unimplemented or Unsupported Feature in UI vulnerability in the CLI of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved on QFX5000 Series allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS).
Several configuration statements meant to enforce limits on MAC learning and moves can be configured but do not take effect. This can lead to control plane overload situations which will severely impact the ability of the device to processes legitimate traffic.
This issue affects Junos OS Evolved on QFX5000 Series:
All versions before 21.4R3-S8-EVO, 22.2-EVO versions before 22.2R3-S5-EVO,
22.4-EVO versions before 22.4R3-EVO, 23.2-EVO versions before 23.2R2-EVO.
An Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the rpd-server of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved within cRPD allows an unauthenticated network-based attacker sending crafted TCP traffic to the routing engine (RE) to cause a CPU-based Denial of Service (DoS).
If specially crafted TCP traffic is received by the control plane, or a TCP session terminates unexpectedly, it will cause increased control plane CPU utilization by the rpd-server process.
While not explicitly required, the impact is more severe when RIB sharding is enabled.

An Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in the Packet Forwarding Engine (pfe) of the Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved on ACX Series devices allows an unauthenticated, network based attacker sending specific transit protocol traffic to cause a partial Denial of Service (DoS) to downstream devices.
Receipt of specific transit protocol packets is incorrectly processed by the Routing Engine (RE), filling up the DDoS protection queue which is shared between routing protocols. This influx of transit protocol packets causes DDoS protection violations, resulting in protocol flaps which can affect connectivity to networking devices.
This issue affects both IPv4 and IPv6. This issue does not require any specific routing protocol to be configured or enabled.
The following commands can be used to monitor the DDoS protection queue:
labuser@re0> show evo-pfemand host pkt-stats
labuser@re0> show host-path ddos all-policers
This issue affects Junos OS Evolved:
