The setupsnappyosmounts function in the ubuntu-core-launcher package before 1.0.27.1 improperly determines the mount point of bind mounts when using snaps, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information or gain privileges via a snap with a name starting with "ubuntu-core."

Unlike the vulnerability described by CVE-2016-3714, this functionality is supported by the core file opening function rather than a delegates subsystem usually used to execute external programs.

In ZeroMQ libzmq before 4.0.9, 4.1.x before 4.1.7, and 4.2.x before 4.3.2, a remote, unauthenticated client connecting to a libzmq application, running with a socket listening with CURVE encryption/authentication enabled, may cause a stack overflow and overwrite the stack with arbitrary data, due to a buffer overflow in the library. Users running public servers with the above configuration are highly encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible, as there are no known mitigations.

All versions of Samba from 4.0.0 onwards are vulnerable to a use after free vulnerability, where a malicious SMB1 request can be used to control the contents of heap memory via a deallocated heap pointer. It is possible this may be used to compromise the SMB server.
